Mrs. Lovercheck’s Policy Regarding Absent Students and Zoom
Mrs. Lovercheck uses Zoom each day in class to record notes and discussion. If a student is absent, they may join the Zoom room from home, whether for a single day or extended absence. The address for the Zoom Room is https://zoom.us/my/barbaralovercheck. Students who wish to join class via Zoom will need to log into Zoom at the beginning of class and Mrs. Lovercheck will need to manually admit them to the Zoom Room.
For students who are absent, Mrs. Lovercheck will also record class every day that there are notes and discussion in class. The recordings will be posted on humphrey.instructure.com (Canvas). Students who cannot join the Zoom Room live can watch the video and listen to the discussion. This allows them to stay caught up with class even when absent.
The recorded Zoom videos will be posted on Canvas later in the day they are recorded (most likely during Mrs. Lovercheck’s plan time, 2:47-3:36). Questions may be directed to Mrs. Lovercheck at her email address: barbaralovercheck@humphrey.esu7.org.
Zoom guidelines.
1. Request for Zoom before class.
2. Be in Zoom and prepared when class begins.
3. Participate in class and be present the whole class time.
Simply put, if you are in a Zoom, you should act as if you were sitting in your desk for class.
